Abyssinians are believed to be descended from the sacred cats of the Pharoahs and were first brought to Britain in the late 1800s.
The Aby is a medium sized cat with a lithe muscular body. They are very playful and extremely affectionate and loyal to their owners. One unique characteristic of the Aby is that unlike other cats they tend to have a trill or chirp rather than a miaow. Their coats are short and close lying and has distinctive ticking rather like a wild rabbit .
Here at Glendavan we breed six of the main recognised colours of Abyssinian:
Usual, Sorrel, Blue, Fawn, Chocolate and Lilac.
