Abyssinians

Abyssinians were first brought into Britain in the 1800s. They are a medium sized cat with a lithe muscular body and a short close lying coat that has a distinctive ticking with at least 4 bands of colour on each hair giving them a "wild" look, it's very much like a wild rabbit. They have many colours, the main 6 are usual, sorrel, blue, fawn, chocolate and lilac, these are the colours we breed here at Glendavan.

Abyssinians are extremely affectionate, intelligent, playful and loyal cats similar to a dog, they also sometimes play fetch! Abyssinians love to be with you and this makes them perfect as a family pet. One of the characteristic of the Abyssinian is they have a "trill" or "chirp" rather than a miaow.
